WWW Virtual Library

Unlike commercial catalogs, the WWW Virtual Library is run by a loose confederation of volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert; even though it isn’t the biggest index of the web, the VL pages are widely recognized as being amongst the highest-quality guides to particular sections of the web.

Navigate to medicine, social sciences, life sciences, or economics for a huge number of journals to read online. Under Social Sciences, find journals on African affairs, political analysis, development, economics, refugee health, human rights and much more. Under the category Medicine read journals on epidemiology, public health, health policy and planning, health promotion, and health ethics among others.

A good site for specific resources on communicable diseases, human resources for health, health services management, emergency health management, business, economics, and international affairs. The site also covers law, religion, engineering, social sciences, business, politics, economics, development studies, and sustainable development.

Highwire Press

Hosted by Stanford University, contains articles from a vast range of journals. Many recent articles are free while others are available after 12 months. Journals on epidemiology, health education, health policy and planning, health promotion, physiology, research, computer science, medicine, agriculture, ecology, political science, and economics.

Hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. An easily navigable central access for over 35,000 books hosted by the University of Pennsylvania; search by author, subject, or title for books on social sciences, political science, medicine, religion, history, education, music, and health.
