Mass Communication


Course Objective:

The Diploma in Mass Communication (MCM) offers a robust and comprehensive curriculum ranging from print, online and broadcast journalism, to advertising, public relations, radio, TV and social media. The course trains young professionals for a wide variety of career in the dynamic media industry as well as the fast-paced corporate world. Students will have the opportunity to gain experience through structured internships during this programme. It also gives students a wide area to explore and discover where their true passion lies, with hands-on assignments backed with theory, so that it is easier for them to choose a major for their degree or decide on a career.

Upon completion of the course the student should be able:
• To equip participants with more in-depth understanding of specialized Mass Communications subjects.
• To enhance the effectiveness of participants’ practical skills and techniques through action-based training.
• To enable participants to pursue an undergraduate degree in the field of Mass Communications
• Students are also imparted with critical thinking skills to analyze articles, plus strong writing and journalistic skills to produce their own articles for public consumption.
• Students will be trained in the basics of public relations, so as to manage corporate Communications for their organizations.
